Events

Trivia and Drinks with Profs

  • The Life Sciences DSC is excited to announce our annual Trivia and Drinks With Profs event, taking place on Wednesday, November 20th from 7-10pm at The Grad Club!

  • This 19+ event offers the perfect chance for students to connect with Life Sci professors and peers in a relaxed setting. Enjoy trivia, food, and drinks for sale throughout the night!

  • Tickets can be purchased in advance on the ASUS store (Life Sci Drinks With Profs Tickets – The Arts & Science Undergraduate Society Store) for $5 to guarantee entry before 8pm, or at the door for $7.50 after 8pm if capacity allows! Space is limited, so be sure to purchase your tickets before it's too late!

  • Additionally, please remember to bring ID to the event, and to complete the AMS waiver prior to attending (AMS In-Person Risk and Acknowledgement Waiver)

Networking Conference

  • Here are the Conference Speakers:

    Dr. Myron Szewczuk -> Dr. Szewczuk is a professor and research scholar specializing in cancer research, inflammation and insulin receptor signaling. He has published numerous peer edited articles and has mentored many renowned graduate students.

    Dr. Maha Othman -> Dr. Othman is a Clinical pathologist, who specializes in haemostasis lab testing and platelet/bleeding disorders. She has been the recipient of multiple awards such as the Executive Women in Leadership Certificate, the Ontario Minister of Colleges and Universities’ Award of Excellence for Everyday Heroes and more.

    Diane Kim -> Diane is a second-year medical student at Queen’s. She completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science from McGill university, and worked as a research assistant. Diane is the first in her family to pursue a career in healthcare, and successfully navigated the challenges of medical school admissions.

    Jenny Kang -> Jenny is a second year medical student at Queen’s, having finished her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at McMaster. She is an immigrant and the first to attend medical school in her family.
